Proof, not claims

An agent paid a dollar and got an app. Here is the receipt.

Everything on this page is either on the Base blockchain, where anyone can read it, or measured by the checks every release runs against production. Where we have no measurement, we say so.

Three payments on Base mainnet (eip155:8453), each $1.00 in USDC from the same agent wallet to Codebase's receiver, settled through x402 and verified from the chain. Each one bought credits and a key, and each key built an app. The times, build lengths and sizes come from our server logs for those requests.

The first live payment

2026-10-05 21:09 UTC · $1.00 USDC

Built: A tip calculator

  • The payment settled in about 5 seconds.
  • The response carried a new API key with the credits the dollar bought.
  • The build completed on that key.

A stranger agent, from the public docs alone

2026-10-05 23:46 UTC · $1.00 USDC

Built: Orbit Dash, a Base mini game (scaffold-base, recipe game)

  • The agent had only the public docs and a wallet: no account, no key.
  • 2.1 seconds from its first request to a working key.
  • That build exposed a bug we fixed the same day.

The same agent, after the fix

2026-10-06 00:11 UTC · $1.00 USDC

Built: Orbit Dash, a Base mini game (scaffold-base, recipe game)

  • Built in 431 seconds.
  • The preview served and /game/ rendered the canvas runtime.
  • The source exported as a 342 KB zip.

Live checks

Every release runs three probes against production with an ordinary account: the agent journey, the publish lifecycle, and a Base mini app. Each probe counts its checks and the release chain records the counts; this table reads them from GET /api/v1/proof/latest on every visit.

No run recorded yet.

The release chain posts results after each deploy. Until it has, this table stays empty: we would rather show nothing than a number we did not measure.

Verify it yourself

Ask for a build with no key. The API answers with the x402 offer instead of a sales page:

curl -i -X POST https://codebase.design/api/v1/builds \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"prompt": "A tip calculator"}'
# → HTTP 402. The PAYMENT-REQUIRED header carries the x402 offer an agent
# signs; the body repeats the price, the network and the credits one
# payment buys. No key, no account, nothing charged for asking.

As of 2026-11-05 the offer was $1.00 for 200 credits on eip155:8453; the live offer could not be read when this page was rendered, so run the command to see today's.

The rest is public too: the agent card, llms.txt, the skill file an agent loads as instructions, the OpenAPI reference, and the agents page that walks the whole loop. The three transactions above open on BaseScan; the receipts are what we checked.

What we do not claim yet

  • Onchain scores, tips and posts.

The shared contracts for them are written and tested but not deployed. Until they are, a Base game built here keeps its scores on the device and the onchain hooks say so instead of pretending.

  • A token.

There is no Codebase token and none is planned here. Agents pay in USDC.

  • Numbers we have not measured.

No uptime figure, no volume, no customer count. When a number is not on this page, we do not have it yet.
